Whether you are recovering from grief, navigating a life transition, or simply craving space from the noise of modern life, this retreat offers a container of profound safety and depth. Ideal for spiritual seekers, those recovering from burnout, or anyone ready to listen inward.
What's Included
The Retreat Experience
Your journey begins with an evening orientation and intention-setting ceremony by candlelight on the terrace overlooking the Ganges. Noble silence is entered after the opening circle and maintained throughout the retreat, broken only during brief one-on-one check-ins with your meditation guide. Each dawn begins with pre-dawn sitting meditation as the first light touches the river, followed by gentle pranayama to open the body's energy channels. Mornings continue with guided walking meditations through forest paths along the riverbank — barefoot on soft earth, listening to birdsong and the flow of the Ganges. Afternoons bring deeper sitting practice, body-scan meditations, and reflective journaling in your private room or in the garden. As evening falls, you gather silently for the sacred Ganga Aarti ceremony — watching the fire offerings float on the river as ancient chants fill the air. By the third day, the silence begins to feel less like a discipline and more like a gift. Thoughts slow. The body softens. Something deeper emerges.
What Makes This Retreat Special
Unlike typical silent retreats held in sterile centres, this retreat unfolds in the sacred energy field of Rishikesh — a city that has drawn meditators and seekers for thousands of years. The Ganges itself becomes your teacher. Our meditation guides bring decades of practice in the Vipassana and Yogic traditions, offering gentle individual support without disrupting your silence. Ayurvedic meals are designed to support meditative clarity — light, sattvic, and grounding. The group is kept intentionally small (maximum 12) so that the collective silence deepens rather than distracts. This is not performative stillness — it is a genuine encounter with your own inner landscape.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need prior meditation experience?+
No. This retreat is designed to be accessible to complete beginners as well as experienced meditators. Our teachers provide clear, step-by-step guidance for every practice. The silence itself is the primary teacher — your job is simply to be present.
Is the silence maintained the entire time?+
Noble silence is maintained from the opening ceremony through to the closing circle. Brief one-on-one check-ins with your meditation guide are the only spoken interactions. Many guests find that after the initial adjustment, the silence becomes the most treasured part of the experience.
What if I struggle with sitting for long periods?+
We provide meditation cushions, chairs, and bolsters to support your body. Sessions are interspersed with walking meditation and gentle yoga specifically designed to release physical tension. Our teachers will work with you individually to find a comfortable and sustainable posture.
Can I bring my phone?+
We strongly encourage a full digital detox. You may keep your phone switched off in your room for emergencies, but we ask that it remains off and out of sight during the retreat. A landline is available for urgent family contact.
Is this suitable for someone processing grief?+
Yes. Many guests come to this retreat during periods of grief, loss, or major life transition. The silence provides a safe and held space for emotions to surface and be processed naturally. Our meditation guides are experienced in supporting guests through emotional release.
What is the cancellation policy?+
Free cancellation up to 10 days before your check-in date for a full refund. Cancellations within 10 days receive a 50% refund or the option to reschedule to a future date.
